Aembit manages identity and access for software workloads such as microservices, CI jobs and automation. It verifies a client workload through a trust provider, evaluates an access policy, and brokers the credentials needed to reach a permitted service. The aim is to reduce credentials managed directly by application code and configuration.
Where it fits
Explore Aembit when access to databases, cloud APIs or other services is spread across static secrets and separate provisioning processes. The architecture combines Aembit Cloud for management, policy and auditing with Edge components deployed in the customer’s environment. Trust providers establish workload identity, while credential providers supply the access material appropriate to the destination.
What to evaluate
Start with one workload and destination, then test permitted and denied requests. Verify the supported identity and credential providers, credential lifetime, revocation and audit detail. Understand what happens when the control plane, network or credential provider is unavailable, and what recovery procedures the team needs. Review the permissions and network access required by Edge components. The presence of public SDKs or integrations does not mean the hosted platform is an open-source service.
