SigNoz is an OpenTelemetry-native observability platform that combines application monitoring, distributed tracing, logs, metrics, dashboards and alerts. Telemetry passes through an OpenTelemetry collector into ClickHouse, with the SigNoz backend and interface providing the query and investigation workflow.

Where it fits

Consider SigNoz when you want related telemetry in one tool and a choice between a managed service and self-hosting. A practical evaluation instruments one service, preserves trace context in its logs and follows a known failure across the available signals. For self-hosting, include the work of operating ClickHouse and the collectors in your comparison.

The repository’s root licence currently makes the core available under MIT, while enterprise directories use a separate commercial licence. Cloud and enterprise capabilities should not be assumed to exist in the community deployment.

What to evaluate

Check resource sizing, retention, backup and recovery, collector behaviour and query performance using your own workload. Confirm which authentication, access-control and support features require an enterprise agreement. Review the technical architecture, capacity-planning documentation and licence before deciding how to deploy.
