Overview
Diagrid Catalyst is a platform for durable execution of applications, workflows and AI agents, built on the Dapr runtime. Its documented capabilities include recovering execution after failures, workload identity, policy-based access and signed execution histories. Applications can use Dapr APIs for building blocks such as state, messaging and service invocation.
Diagrid documents several deployment models, including its managed cloud, dedicated deployments, customer-cloud installations and self-managed infrastructure. Dapr’s open-source repository provides useful upstream context, but its license and capabilities should be distinguished from the commercial Catalyst offering.
What to evaluate
- Test recovery from interrupted execution and understand retry and duplicate-side-effect behaviour.
- Check framework, language and Dapr API compatibility for the intended application.
- Review identity, policy administration and execution-history requirements.
- Compare deployment models, operational ownership and data-residency boundaries.
- Examine observability, failure diagnosis, service dependencies and commercial limits.
